Power Amplifiers & Lab Q Touring Gear
Heavy-duty professional amplification from the Electro Tec / Lab Q system inventory, centered on JBL 6233 and JBL/UREI 6290 power amplifiers.
Current tested inventory: 3 working JBL/UREI 6290 amplifiers and 7 working JBL 6233 amplifiers. Three additional JBL 6233 amplifiers are present but are not working and are clearly identified by white tape with an “X” in the photographs.
The Electro Tec / Lab Q Connection
Electro Tec developed the Lab Q Series loudspeaker system as a highly technical, powerful touring system for its era. Electro Tec had a close working relationship with JBL, and the JBL 6233 amplifiers used with the system were fitted with custom front panels carrying the Lab Q Series name. The rear panels retain the original JBL Professional Series Model 6233 identification.
These amplifiers came from professional working racks rather than a recently assembled collection. They are old, heavy pieces of touring equipment, but the working examples remain powerful, very professional amplifiers with excellent sound.
JBL 6233 / Electro Tec Lab Q Series
7 Working 3 Not WorkingJBL Professional Series Model 6233 amplifiers used in the Electro Tec Lab Q system. The custom black Lab Q front panels disguise their JBL origin from the front; the rear identification plates show the original JBL model number.
The three non-working units are the amplifiers marked with white tape and an “X” in the photographs below.
